Houston, We Have a Problem!

We decided to take a slight detour and head north to Las Vegas to visit one of my college roommates who lives in nearby Henderson.  While in Henderson, our traveling companions, Dave and Tere' got a call from a daughter back in CA that their home had been broken into.  Dave decided to fly home immediately and we decided to abort the Route 66 Trip and drive to San Jose with Tere' the following day.

Dave took off for San Jose from Las Vegas and the rest of us went over to my roommate Ty and his wife Ginger's home.  It was a beautiful evening and after dinner we parted promising to try to get together again, soon.

This is not the end of the blog, though.  Kathleen and I will continue our road trip up the Pacific Coast highway to Seattle to see our youngest son Jon and then back across the northern states to our home in Wisconsin.
