Arizona the Grand Canyon State

We crossed the Arizona state line yesterday.  It's been a great trip so far and we still have some good times ahead of us.

On the way from Gallup we rounded Devil's Cliff, a beautiful area.

Driving west we detoured off The Mother Road to see a few sites.   The shot below was taken in the Painted Desert at a location which is purported to be the original Route 66 path.

I took lots of pictures in the Painted Desert, but will share only a couple with you in this post.  Check them out below:

We visited the Grand Canyon today but rolled into "The Gorge" on the way.  The Gorge is actually a canyon formed by the Little Colorado River and is on the Navajo Reservation.  Pretty impressive even though it is no where near as wide as the real Grand Canyon.  It is well worth the two bucks the Navajo charge to visit:

Below is a shot of Kathleen and I at the Gorge:

And below are Kathleen and Tere' at the Gorge:

The Grand Canyon was the next stop but I'll save those pic's for later.  Tonight we are in Williams, AZ a nice little town on Route 66.  They take great advantage of it.  We ate in a Thai restaurant and really enjoyed the food and the service:

Our waitress was a cute girl and she posed with her friend for us:

Lots of neon in Williams and much of it takes advantage of their location on America's Main Street:

Until next time, . . . .Good Nite from Williams, Arizona!
